The Baltics- where ancient traditions and contemporary culture live hand in hand. Here, song and dance hold the power to change history itself. Every five years in Latvia, and every four years in Lithuania, tens of thousands of singers and dancers unite for one of the largest and most breathtaking cultural events in the world – the Song and Dance Celebration.
At Expo Osaka, Baltic Day invites you to experience our unique heritage – through a folk costume exhibition, creative workshops and masterclasses, a symbolic human ring, and a vibrant cultural program featuring outstanding Latvian and Lithuanian artists.
This day is special — on August 23, 1989, the Baltic nations stood united, joining hands in a peaceful demonstration for freedom. Now, 35 years later, we celebrate that spirit of unity through culture, community, and shared history.
Come and celebrate with us – Hand in Hand!
