We are one

The Baltic Pavilion invites you to connect with two Baltic nations—Latvia and Lithuania— and discover the shared threads that bind us all—across religion, race, and culture. We all are part of one precious planet, and with that comes both the privilege and responsibility to safeguard it for generations to come. Here, we celebrate our collective humanity and call on the world to unite with purpose. Let’s be one!

Bridging Cultures
and Co-creating a Better Future

As descendants of the ancient Balts, Latvia and Lithuania hold their time-honoured languages, traditions, and deep connection to nature close to their hearts. This heritage is a living force, inspiring solutions to today’s global challenges through technology and expertise. We are eager to share and learn, as there are always similarities that foster connection and differences from which we can grow and enhance lives.

Between Latvia and Lithuania, between the Baltics and Japan, between continents and cultures, between two human beings. Our mission is simple: to connect, learn, and act together for the well-being of our planet and future societies.

The Pavillion’s centrepiece—an interactive glass wall, draws visitors into a compelling experience. Tiny droplets of condensation form a delicate canvas for you to leave your message—words or symbols that fade within moments, capturing the fleeting passage of time and the urgency of our choices. Messages disappear, but the wall remains alive, symbolising a continuous cycle of change. This evocative symbol, brought to life through water, serves as a reminder of the fragility and beauty of existence.

As you engage in this experience, you’re invited to reflect on your connection to the planet and everyone living on it. Touch the wall, leave a message and watch it fade, then take a moment to contemplate the impact of your choices. Together, let’s begin this journey and embrace our role as caretakers of the Earth and each other.

BARABI-CHAN
THE MASCOT OF THE BALTIC PAVILLION

The Expo’s Baltic Pavilion ambassador, Barabi-chan took his name from the Baltic word for porcini mushrooms. This friendly, fungus-inspired official mascot carries the essence of the Baltic forests, reflecting a long regional tradition of mushrooms as both a popular wild food and a symbol of good luck, while simultaneously serving as a reminder that all of us around the world are connected, in the same way as fungi link together entire woodland ecosystems through the underground mycelium, or “Wood Wide Web.”
